My work explores issues such as globalization, consumerism and technological overreach, ideally with a bit of humor.  I worked for 10 years as an architectural model-maker, and a fascination with scale models and the sweeping plans they depict still drives much of what I do.  Miniaturization allows me to propose projects of absurd ambition and size wh sile maintaining a sense of believability.  In the grown-up world, a scale model presents a convincing alteration of reality, conveying authority and the existence of a well-considered plan.  At the same time, models are a branch of the toy family:  they can lend their credibility to half-baked and preposterous schemes.
